This listing is for a hybrid French martingale / slip martingale. The term hybrid refers to the use of two materials: the fabric leash handle and fabric collar paired with a webbing leash. (Webbing is always either polypropylene or polyester - we do NOT use nylon webbing unless custom ordered.)
Custom made to your specifications! Choose your leash width (3/4" or 1" wide), your collar width (3/4" - 2"), your hardware (Silver, Brass, or Rainbow), your leash length (up to 6 feet included, custom sizes available by custom order), your fabric (pick from any of our collar listings for our fabric selection), and your webbing color (see the color chart below, some photo examples are discontinued colors). The leash length is the entire length of the leash (including the handle) not including the collar. The handle is about an 8" loop.
French Martingale / Slip Martingale is a martingale style collar and leash combo. It is an all in one type of tool, it's great for a quick on/off situation while still being very secure. The webbing leash is fully adjustable as well as the collar to get the perfect fit for a wide range of sizes. This item is still custom made to your dog's specific neck size but it is still adjustable.

Collar Details: All of our collars are made with 100% cotton fabric (unless specified otherwise) that is then pre-washed and dried prior to construction. The fabric fully encases a polypropylene webbing, which gives the collar its strength. We stitch all our collars with dual-duty polyester thread multiple times at all stress points. We've been making our collars this way since 2014.
Collar Care: I personally toss my collar in the washer on cold and lay it flat to dry or hang it outside on a nice day (not in direct sun - this can cause fading)! If you have a collar with a lot of metal hardware, it's recommended to place the collar in a garment bag (or tie it inside a pillowcase). If your collar seems wrinkled, you can very carefully and quickly go over it with an iron on a low-medium setting (being very careful to avoid the hardware, especially if it's plastic). This is to be done carefully, as you don't want to melt or warp the interior webbing!
Recycling Program: While we aim to build our collars to last, cotton fabric is not the strongest and simply just does not last forever. If you have a collar that is starting to show signs of aging or you find you just don't like the fabric anymore (whatever your reason may be), but you notice the hardware is still usable, we do offer a recycling program! Simply send back your old, beat-up collar and receive a discount on a replacement collar. Details to be worked out on a case-by-case basis; if you're interested, please reach out to us via email at woof@thesilverhound.net - Thanks!
